Last Will and Testament of Louisa Prather

In the name of God, Amen. I, Louisa Prather of Washington County and State of Maryland, being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding wishing to settle all my worldly affairs do therefore make publish and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form as follows to wit--

Imprimis - I emancipate and set free my negro girl Rachael at such time that she will be capable of maintaining herself and request my nephew Tobias Johnston to keep her and take care of her until she can maintain herself as aforesaid.

Item. the five hundred Dollars now in the hands of my nephew Tobias Johnston to be disposed of as follows to wit.

Item. I give and bequeath to my sister Mary Johnson or her heirs Two hundred Dollars thereof.

Item. I give and bequeath to David Moore three hundred dollars ??? to be paid to him after he gets married and in the event of his dieing without getting married then the same I give and bequeath to my nephew Tobias Johnson or his heirs.

Item. I give and devise to David Moore all my right Titte claim and Interest of in and to the land Divised to him Inditionally by the last will and Testament of my late husband Harry Pratehr, and provided he should live to get married and in the event of his dieing without dowger then I give and divise the same to Louisa Burdew and her heirs.

Item. I give and bequeath to Margaret Burdew one bed and Bedding now at my former residence also one Beauro.

Item. I give and bequeath to Ruth Johnson my large looking glass.

Item. I give and bequeath to David Moore one bed and bedding now at my sisters ??? ????.

Item. I give and bequeath to Tobias Johnson my riding mare.

Item. my revertionary right or any other right I now have or might hereafter have in my late fathers Jeremiah Betta Estate to be disposed of as follows to wit.

I give and bequeath to Louisa Elizabeth Townshend Daughter of my sister Catharine three hundred Dollars now owing to me from Richard Prather.

I give and bequeath the same to Louisa Burdew or her heirs. lastly I do herby appoint my nephew Tobias Jonson. Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this twenty eight day of November in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

Signed sealed published and declared by Louisa Prather the testatrix within ??? and for her last will and testament in the presence of us the subscribers who signed our names as witnesses thereto at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other.

Washington County. to Wit:

On this 24th day of October 1833 came Tobias Johnson Executor of Louisa Prather Dec'd and made oath that the above and aforegoing is the true and whole will of Louisa Prather late of said county Dec'd that hath come to his sight or knowledge. And at the same time came Lancelott Jacques and Andrew Grosh who severally made oath that they did see the Testatrix herein named sign and seal this will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament, that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the Testatrix and in the presence of each other and that they saw Catharine Blackmore do the same.
