Last Will and Testament of Leroy Henry

I Leroy Henry of the Township of Rockdale, in the county of Crawford, do make and constitute this my last will and Testament, in manner following, To wit, First, I direct my executors herein after named to pay all my Just debts, as soon as possible after my death out of the proceeds of my personal Estate.

Second, I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jerusha, the proceeds of the farm on which I now reside during her natural life or while she remains my widow, and at her death, or marriage to a second husband, I will said farm to my two sons Alvinza & Jonas.

Third, I will unto my daughter Sally Ann fifty dollars.

Fourth, I will unto my son James two dollars.

Fifth, I will unto my daughter Nancy Ann, intermarried with Lewis Larkins, fifty dollars.

Sixth, I will unto my son Harmon ten dollars.

Seventh, I will unto my daughter Eunice intermarried with Platt Hodges, ten dollars.

Eighth, I will unto my son Josiah Four dollars.

Ninth, I will unto my daughter Lydia, intermarried with John C. Sturgis Four dollars. All of which last bequests to be paid out of the proceeds of my personal Estate.

Tenth, Whatever property may be left after paying my debts and the foregoing bequests I will unto my wife Jerusha, she however is to Keep my two youngest sons, Alvinza & Jonas until they are of age, and I hereby appoint and constitute my wife Jerusha and Lewis Larkins, my executors of this my last will and testament.

Witness my hand and seal this 18th day of August AD. 1853,

Before me Register of wills be, in and for said County, personally come A. D. Sabin, and W. D. Taylor, the subscribing witnesses, to the within will, who upon their solemn affirmation doth depose and say that they were present at the execution of said will, that they each saw the testator L. Henry Sign his name to said will, and that they heard him declare the same to be his last will and testament, and that they each Signed their names thereto as witnesses at the reqauest of Said testator and in his presence. And that they believe that Said testator was at the time of sound and disposing mind & memory to the best of their knowledge and belief.
