
Know all men by these presents That I, Geo. C. Prather of the Village of Plumer, County of Venango, and State of Pennsylvania, Gentlemen, being in reasonable good health and of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and constitute this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
First, I do hereby constitute and appoint Abraham S. Prather and John G. Wilson to be the sole Executors with full power to pay all my just debts and the legacies hereinafter given out of my estate and sell and dispose of my effects by public or private sale as in their judgment they may deem best. After the payment of my just debts, I give to each of my several neices now living five hundred dollars to be placed on interest and paid them as they become of age, and to each of my several nephews now living one thousand dollars which shall be placed on interest and paid them as they become of age. And provided any of the aforesaid nephews become intemperate or inebriates then his portion as above provided shall be equally divided among the remaining living nephews, and should any of the aforesaid neices or and of the aforesaid nephews decease before becoming of age, then shall her or his portion be equally divided among the remaining living neices or nephew as the case may be i.e. the neices portion among the remaining living neices and the nephew portion among the remaining living nephews. And to the U. P. Church at Plumer, Venango County, State of Pennsylvania, four thousand dollars which shall be placed on interest and the interest thereof to be used by said Church for and in the interests of said Church. And two thousand dollars shall be placed on interest which interest thereon accruing shall be used from time to time in making and keeping up repairs in and around fathers grave and family burrying ground now at Plumer or wheresoever mooved all the above to be placed on interest within two years. And to my mother Sarah Prather shall be given the nenefits derived from my life policy of ten thousand dollars, and to Henry Compton five hundred dollars to be paid him when he becomes of age, provided he is of temperate habits and to Philip Hatch my gold watch and chain, and to George E. Prather my gold headed cane, and the balance of all my effects after liberal payment to the Executors for their serviced rendered which they shall have the privelege to deduct to be divided as follows: To Sarah E. Prather four twenty fourths 4/24. To Rebecca R. McClure four twenty fourths 4/24. To Abraham S. Prather four twenty fourths 4/24. To Mary P. Hatch five twenty fourths 5/24. To John S. Prather 3/24. To Henry M. Prather and Elizabeth Prather his wife four twenty fourths 4/24. Said four twenty fourths bequeathed to H. M. Prather and Elizabeth Prather his wife to be placed on interest or invested in real estate with the approval of the Executors to have, hold, and use the proceeds or interest during their natural lives and at their death the principal, proceeds, & interest to go to their children, then living. And I hereby grant unto Abraham S. Prather the privelege of taking all or so many of the shares of my Bank Stock in the First National Bank of Sharon, Mercer County, Pa as he may choose select for which he shall pay no greater sum than the par value per share.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the presence of the witnesses named below, this ninth day of August A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy one.

Personally came before me James W. Shaw, Register for the Probate of Wills, and granting Letters of Administration, in and for the County aforesaid John G. Wilson and Soltie J. Alleman, the subscribing witnesses to the above will, who being duly sworn according to law, do say that they were present, and saw, and heard G. C. Prather the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce, and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind, memory, and understanding, to the best of their knowledge and belief.
