I Benjamin Cottrell...commit my soul into the hands of my creator who gave it and my body to the earth to be interred at the discretion of my children and as to such worldly estate, wherewith it hath pleased God to entrust me. I dispose of the same as follows:
First it is my will and I do order that all my last debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently after my decease.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Septema Moore thirty dollars,
to my daughter Elizabeth Blair thirty dollars,
to my daughter Mertha Marinda McClure thirty dollars,
to my daughter Sarah Kingsley thirty dollars,
to my daughter Jane Dumars thirty dollars,
to my son David Hardy the balance of all that is left be the same more or less.
I nominate and constitute Calvin Avery and David H. Cottrell to be the executors of this my will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and soul the fifteenth day of August A.D. 1857.
