
In the name of God, Amen: I, Bazzel Prather of Washington County and State of Maryland being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do therefore make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: First I give and bequeath unto my brother Samuel Prather my rifle gun and also all my books except my large English Bible which I give and bequeath unto my niece Sarah Prather my bed and bedsead and all its furniture. Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my nephew Friend Prather my Walnut Writing Desk. Fifthly I give and bequeath unto Gitty Prather my large Walnut Chist. Sixthly I give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Prather (son of Samuel) Five Pounds to be paid to him after my decease. Seventhly I give and bequeath unto my five nephews (sons of Samuel Prather) my wearing apparel to be divided amongst them. Eighthly After paying my just debts and funeral charges. Ninthly After the rest and remainder of my Legiaciess and personal estate is to be equily divided amongst them the children of my Brother Samuel Prather constituting and appointing him the said Samuel Prather Executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seven.

Washington County to wit
On the 14th day of October 1808 came John Heatherington and George Bleakmore the two subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing testament and Last Will of Bazil Prather deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this will, that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament, that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they subscribed their to this will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other.
