
In the name of God, Amen. I, Ann Clagett widow of John Clagett late of Washington County Deceased, being desirous of settling all my worldly affairs that I may be the better prepared to leave this life when it shall please my Heavenly Father to require my departure, do make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all others.
Whereas, after the decease of my late Husband above named I became entitled to a considerable personal estate as my thirds of his property which with my consent passed into the possession of my sons & daughters and has been ??? and still is held by them, the chief part thereof by my sons Samuel, David & Hezekiah, and a small part by my daughter Sophia.
Now it is my will and I do hereby give and bequeath to my said Sons Samuel, David & Hezekiah all the said personal estate which they have had in possession or is now in their or either of their possessions or use to have and to hold as their proper property & estate forever free and discharged from all claim whatsoever by me my heirs or assigns, and I do also hereby release and acquit my said sons and also my son John B. Clagett of all claims & demands on account of the said personal property as well for the use thereof, as in all other ways or of all sum of money due from them or either of them on any account whatsoever. Further, I do hereby exonerate release and discharge my said son John Beal, Samuel, David, & Hezekiah from all claims and demands which I have or may have against them or either of them on account of rents or money due or a reasonable value demandable of ??? for my right or dower in the real estate which they occupy & enjoy or which wasmy late husbands and I do freely give up to my said Sons whatever sums of money I might claim of them or any of them on this account or on any other account whatsoever, to have hold & enjoy as their own respectively without accountability to me or my heirs or any other person. And if any further or ohter sum of money shall accrue due to me from my aforesaid Sons or any of them in any way whatever after the date hereof, I will and bequeath the sum to my said Sons, or such of them as may ??? the same to have and to hold for their own benefit and not to be recounted ??? my heirs or assigns, whether the said sums shall become due to me on account of the personal or real estate held by them or any of them or in any other way and whereas my son in Law William Fitzhugh, Jun'r, and my daughter Sophia his wife received and have held used and enjoyed part of the personal and real estate to which I was entitled as thirds and as dower of the Estate of my late husband John Clagett Dec'd and now hold use and enjoy the same without having paid me therefor it is my will & I give and bequeath all sums of money, claims & demands which are rightfully due me or which may hereafter accrue due to me, on account of the said part of personal estate, or real estate as rents hires, or values, or in any way whatsoever, to the Children of my daughter Sophia Fitzhugh to have and receive the same from their Father William Fitzhugh Jun'r to the whole amount or extent that he the said William may be indebted or chargeable share and share alike among them for own use and benefit. I do hereby further give and bequeath all rents profits sums of money & personal property or other things which may be due by Doctor Frederick Dorsey on account of that part of the Estate of my late husband real & personal in which I was intitled to my thirds or dower held occupied & emjoyed by him to the children of my daughter Sally Dorsey to have and hold to them share and share alike for their own benefit respectively.
Finally, it is my desire & I do direct that none of my children, Sons or daughters, shall be accountable, either to the other, for my property held by any of them of ??? or in which I had an interest or for any sum of money due me by any of them or to become due or any demand whatever.
In testimony that the above is my last will and testament and that I have revoked & annulled all others I have hereunto signed my name & affixed my seal this eighteenth day of Feby, 1829.

On this 10th day of August 1832 came William Robinson and Samuel Wagner and made oath that they did see the above named Testatrix sign and seal this Will, that they heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament, that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, that they subscribed their names as witnesses in the presence and at the request of the Testatrix and in the presence of each other.
